Who we are

The Canadian International Professionals Association (CIPA) is a global, member-led community connecting Canadians and Canada-connected individuals at home and around the world. Our purpose is to help people succeed internationally by creating opportunities for connection, learning, collaboration, and shared identity across borders.

Our members are Canadians and Canada-connected individuals who believe that Canada’s strength extends far beyond its geography. CIPA connects Canadians wherever they are internationally through a global network supported by local chapters. Our community includes founders, operators, executives, advisors, technologists, creators, service providers, and students just beginning their professional journeys. What unites our members is a commitment to growth, participation, and helping one another succeed as they build careers, businesses, and communities around the world.

CIPA is designed to be participatory. Members are encouraged to take an active role in shaping the community, from contributing ideas and expertise to forming and leading chapters, committees, and initiatives wherever they live and work.

What we do

CIPA brings people together across professional, cultural, and geographic boundaries. We focus on both the practical realities of global careers and business, and the human connections that help Canadians feel grounded and supported wherever they are.

Members engage through:

  • Committees and communities of interest that turn shared experience into action

  • Programs and initiatives that support international careers, trade, innovation, and mobility

  • Social, cultural, and heritage based activities that strengthen connection to Canada
